Sunny Qiu (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker and therapist passionate about helping people find calm, confidence, and connection in their lives. She specializes in supporting individuals who are kind to everyone but themselves — those who care deeply for others yet struggle to show the same compassion inward.

Sunny helps clients work through anxiety, trauma, self-criticism, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, and relationship challenges. She also works with couples who love each other but feel stuck, helping them rebuild trust, communicate openly, heal from past hurts, and strengthen emotional intimacy.

Sunny offers a calm, compassionate space where clients can feel fully accepted without judgment. She believes healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood. Her work focuses on helping clients understand the parts of themselves that feel anxious, avoidant, or self-critical — the parts that have been trying to protect them for a long time. Through this process, Sunny helps clients work with themselves rather than against themselves, fostering curiosity, kindness, and self-compassion.

Her approach is gentle, relational, and trauma-informed, integrating EMDR, DBT, CBT, parts work (IFS-informed), mindfulness, and the Gottman Method for couples. Drawing from Polyvagal Theory, she helps clients regulate their nervous systems, reduce emotional triggers, and feel safe in their bodies.

With years of training and experience in psychology, holding both a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, Sunny combines insight with practical tools to help clients understand what’s happening in their brain, body, and mind in clear and meaningful ways — guiding them from reactivity and self-blame toward resilience, balance, and self-trust.

As a first-generation immigrant and member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Sunny brings cultural humility, authenticity, and deep respect for diverse experiences. She helps clients explore how their unique cultural identities, values, and beliefs shape their sense of self and relationships. Her goal is to create a space where differences are understood and celebrated, and where each person can reconnect with their strength, dignity, and sense of peace.

Areas of Focus: anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, attachment issues, LGBTQ+

Ryan is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in the Province of British Columbia who has spent most of his time in private practice focused on individual counselling of adults and teens. He enjoys working with a wide variety of clients and prior to his time as a counsellor, he spent over ten years working in the education system.

He believes that by creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgemental space, individuals can explore what their authentic self is looking for in life. We are all shaped by our experiences in life, both positive and negative, many of those experiences took place during our childhood and adolescent years and have shaped who we are today. A significant amount of the habits, frustrations, and triggers that we have as adults, were formed during our youth, and were out of our control. This sometimes requires us to reflect on and challenge beliefs we have developed about oneself, family, and the perspective (lens) that we view the world through.

His philosophy is based around a humanistic approach to therapy. He believes that we should work towards being true to ourselves to live a fulfilling life. Everyone has a unique way of viewing the world which guides our actions and choices. Self-actualization, self-direction, and choice are essential components of our growth and healing.

He treasures seeing the changes that his clients make on their journey through life and believes it is a privilege to be allowed into his client’s lives. He believes that by making changes in our lives and how we approach things, individuals can live the life that they deserve and desire to live.
